Case Study: Click Pedras AR Experience
The Challenge
As a century-old brand, Água das Pedras needed to stay relevant to a younger, "Instagram-first" demographic. The goal was to transform the act of drinking water from a passive habit into an active, shareable moment that highlights the brand's unique connection to nature and the outdoors.
The Solution
An interactive mobile app developed to turn every bottle of Pedras into a gateway for digital art:
AR Camera Integration: Using the smartphone camera, the app recognizes the bottle and overlays artistic, high-quality Augmented Reality elements. Users can "dress" their environment or the bottle with nature-inspired visuals.
Social "Pedras" Feed: An internal community wall within the app where users can post their creations, like others' photos, and draw inspiration from the "Pedras community" before sharing to external platforms.
One-Tap Instagram Sharing: Seamless integration with Instagram Stories and feeds, allowing the brand to gain organic reach as users showcase their "cool" nature shots styled by the app.
Nature-Centric Filters: Specifically designed aesthetics that enhance outdoor photography, reinforcing the brand's origin story (born 1,000 meters deep in the Pedras Salgadas park).
Design Strategy
The app’s UI is minimalist to ensure the camera and the user's creativity remain the focus. The AR assets are crafted to be "cool" and "trendy" rather than just promotional, using organic shapes and fluid animations that mimic the movement of water and the wildness of northern Portuguese landscapes.
Results
The "Click Pedras" campaign successfully moved the brand into the lifestyle category. By giving users the tools to create artistic content, Água das Pedras generated thousands of user-generated impressions, effectively turning its customers into brand ambassadors who associate the product with creativity, youth, and the raw power of nature.
